Why would an adult like this 'kids' movie? Read on...
I can't for the life of me understand what I so dearly love about this movie. It is a kid (dog pup) from a 'small town in the hills' who goes to the big city to learn about making music and meeting his idle. I'd say one things is good voice work by the lead actor and others. Very enjoyable. Animation seems good too. Story does not seem so 'childish' as one might think but, who knows? Feature tune is a bit lame though. Technically it's the pup's first major tune and not a professional one so it would be odd to be "as good as John Williams or Frank Sinatra". So, I love it. Go figure! Theme of following your calling and not caving in to family (father)s plans for you
The main character is very loving and trusting of others. Once he realizes what his heart wants, he presses forward with perseverance and in so doing also furthers those connected with him. It is nice to see someone who is friendly and outgoing rather than much of the cynicism and hardness in many characters in recent movies and in the news and television. By expressing love outwardly to others it reflects back to Bodi (main character) in ways he could not have calculated to sweep him to his heart's desire, creating rock music. We rented this when my grand kids were here little did we know, even though the dogs certainly didn't look like a Tibetan mastiff, in the film they were suppose to be. Since they have a wonderful amazing Tibetan Mastiff imagine my granddaughters joy at seeing this movie.
