Narcs Don't Win Friends & Influence People. No Matter
Ty Hackett (Columbus Short), a war veteran is hired to work as security guard by the Eagle Shield Security where his old friend Mike Cochroone (Matt Dillon) works. Ty is having financial difficulties after the death of his father, and is raising his brother Jimmy (Andre Kinney) alone. He teams up with Mike's brother-in-law, Baines (Laurence Fishburne), & their coworkers Quinn (Jean Reno), Palmer (Amaury Nolasco) and Dobbs (Skeet Ulrich). Mike invites Ty to join the team to rob two armored trucks transporting 42 million dollars. The reluctant Ty accepts after Mike promises that nobody would be hurt in the heist. Let's put things into perspective here. From the bad guys' point of view, narcs are bad news. The whole film was about someone wanting a better life but squelching on his friends ... I'm certainly not into people getting killed, however, this doesn't ever really happen this way in real life. How's the director and screenplay artist supposed to make me believe that this guy is going to suddenly change his mind? It doesn't really happen in real life because, if it did, the guy wouldn't be around to tell. It just so happened that he wasn't the one that got caught in the crossfire. I'm not a con, but if I was, this guy wouldn't be around long enough to run, much less hide. The story is not that predictable, which is what the director and screenplay artist is banking on. The only reason the whole film was so enchanting was the fact that this guy was way off base and that the others were correct in trying to stop him from squelching. I know this seems seemingly against ethics in society, but if you study group bonding, this goes against the most sacred things in life. This might be considered the worst sin (code of honor) among men, to forsake the covenant. The unspoken word on the street sometimes speaks much louder than even family ties. With that said, let's just get a few items straight in our talk. At least the guy was man enough to come back and get the injured police some assistance. Wow, thanks a million! What's the deal with that? Do you think for one minute a guy with everything going against him is going to somehow get the Holy Ghost and True Religion to somehow save a dying cop? Give me a cotton-picking break. That's the worst piece of news I've ever seen. This guy would pee on me if my guts were on fire. He probably hates everyone in life, especially the white people that are trying to take his younger brother Jimmy away & put him in foster care. The director Nimrod Antal pays close attentions to detail delivering us suspenseful scene after scene that builds up the tension more and more as time progresses. The tension mostly seems to be coming from the fact that that two guys taking turns are pounding on sharp chisel with an iron pipe. The sparks and the closeness of the pipe to the holder's hands really make it painful to watch. This goes on and on. Antal, although born in California, went back to his parent's native country Hungary to learn from the school of film. There he got more recognized for his achievements with the film Control (2003). Antal later directed Vacancy (2007). His created achievement is yet to be recognized as he has finished his latest film Predators to be released late in July of 2010. Additional actors that deserve mentioning are Fred Ward as Duncan Ashcroft, the chief security manager and Milo Ventimiglia as Eckehart.

Good acting and Good Movie

The movie is about a group of Armored Car Security Personal who decide to rob one of the Armored cars. The plan is preceding nicely until one of the gets cold feet and the others have to deal with that and try to get away before they are caught.
