Fantastic "What if?" film!
Great underrated 80s film! The crew of a modern (1980) US Navy aircraft carrier are transported back to Dec 6th 1941- one day before the attack on Pearl Harbor. The cast is made up of some heavyweights with Martin Sheen and Kirk Douglas in the lead roles. James Farentino, Katherine Ross and Charles Durning round out the cast. They all put in stellar performances. Despite the far fetched plot, their deliveries are genuine and not corny or forced. Almost all of the ship board scenes were filmed aboard the actual USS Nimitz and used its crew as extras adding to the realism of ship activities. Plenty of shots of launches and landings of various Navy jets and aircraft! The bluray itself is decent quality. It's still an 80s film so there is some grain, but it is definitely superior to the dvd ... Great underrated 80s film! Truly a great movie and worthy of being put into your collection especially on Blu ray I highly recommend this movie its great.. I just wish that there would have been more action and dog fighting with the jets vs Japanese zeros. But what can I say....
