It's always a special occasion when U2 hit the road to promote a new album. The year 2005 was no exception, as the band wowed worldwide audiences with the Vertigo tour, which featured a selection of classic old material coupled with tracks from 2004's HOW TO DISMANTLE AN ATOMIC BOMB. This release includes the full concert from the Chicago date of the tour, with Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr., and Adam Clayton demonstrating their considerable prowess as a live band. Despite their lengthy tenure at the top, the band still strives to innovate, and while the show isn't quite as spectacular as their '90s outings to promote ACHTUNG BABY and ZOOROPA, they still provide an impressive visual spectacle.

    U2 Vertigo 2005

    The latest tour video from the band from Ireland comes in better than the Elevation Tour video, but behind the Popmart tour. The days of the huge, larger than life Stadium shows are over for the boys from Dublin, and with it the spectacles they created. A smaller more intimate setting and show does capture some of the glory of days gone by, with good sound and video quality. The video will not disappoint new fans of the band, but older followers will think back and remember what used to be. All and all, a good buy.

    Flawless Performance -- A must have for U2 fans

    Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen, Jr., and Adam Clayton really rock in this memorable Vertigo Tour concert in Chicago. Contains many of their greatest hits. Tunes vary from melodic ballads to heavy rock. The band must have spent a small fortune decorating the venue, and the light bulb video set is an awesome spectacular. Two thumbs enthusiastically up. DVD not in original plastic packaging, instead in cardboard, U2 print. But the price is good from this E-Bayer. Very Happy I own this historical concert video. My friends think it's an awesome show.
