My (late) Dad told me to see this movie!
This movie will have you laughing, cheering, happy and sad. All of the performers are exceptional in their roles. It's one of those movies that allows you to forget yourself, for awhile, and simply sit back and enjoy. The real thrill for me, as a professional musician and vocalist, is the duet with Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow. They are both incredible singing the old Smokey hit Crusin'. You won't believe how great they are together. Another cherished reason this is part of my collection-Gwyneth's dad also directed. Watch this with the wife
I originally saw this movie a long time ago, on HBO or something. Recently, Smoky Robinson's "Cruising Together" popped into my head and made me think of this movie. I asked my wife if she'd ever seen Duets and she never had, so I bought it. I remember enjoying it way back when and to my surprise, it still maintained it's sense of fun, adventure and warmth. You get into the story very easily and although it's slightly predictable, it's a fun movie none the less. The characters are well played and colorful. There's really no part that I can say the movie dragged, so it was a fun ride watching all these people from different walks of life come together. I say, this is a movie you should see! I enjoy the interaction of the cast of characters and loved Maria Bello's performance and the highlight of the film is the interaction between Paul Giamatti and Andre Braugher especially the touching duet they sing together .
