About this product

Product Information

Civilization doesn't end with a bang or a whimper. It ends with a call on your cell phone. What happens on the afternoon of October 1 came to be known as the Pulse, a signal sent though every operating cell phone that turns its user into something...well, something less than human. Savage, murderous, unthinking-and on a wanton rampage. Terrorist act? Cyber prank gone haywire? It really doesn't matter, not to the people who avoided the technological attack. What matters to them is surviving the aftermath. Before long a band of them-"normies" is how they think of themselves-have gathered on the grounds of Gaiten Academy, where the headmaster and one remaining student have something awesome and terrifying to show them on the school's moonlit soccer field. Clearly there can be no escape. The only option is to take them on.

  • Don't Answer The Phone, What's On The Line Is Deadly!

For 3 Decades I've been a fan of Stephen King's writing and he never seems to disappoint me! His Latest release the "Cell" opens with a bang or (should I say a ring?!) and it never stops. Just when you think you've read his best, King comes up with something that cuts straight to the bone...reach for your cell phone and you'll never go home. King hits us with a terror that squeezes right at the heart of us, some evil terror has seeped into our cell phones and all we have to do is answer the call and it's there our sanity falls. I liked that in this book Stephen King doesn't even attempt to build our terror up, he just starts the horror off from the 1st few pages. I love the fact that he can take a mere object and write such a riveting piece of work out of it. I dislike the fact that ...

  • Stephen King's novel "Cell"

Stephen King is my favorite Author. The book is awesome. I am reading it now. I think it's an awesome read. I decided to buy it because it was so much less expensive than at any store around here, and I'm not happy until I've had my yearly Stephen King fix. I guess I wont be getting any sleep in the next few nights!

  • Cell -- I'm only seeing 3 bars...

I found Cell mildly entertaining, but didn't feel that this was Mr. King's strongest effort. It lacked the master storytelling of earlier efforts (Bag of Bones is a favorite in this regard) and just didn't seem to hang together that well. Keep in mind, it is still Stephen King we're talking about, and I don't think anybody does horror better than him. So, Cell is still definitely worth the read. However, if you haven't read that much King in the past, I would start with something like The Shining or The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, or something like that.

  • no ending

I love this book, its everything you would expect from Stephen King, but the ending drops off leaving you with a hundred questions. I understand some people like this, I just would rather not leave it to my imagination. I demand a sequel to answer the many questions I was left with!!
