About this product

Product Information

Lee Child says it's "stunning... certain to be a book of the year." Kathy Reichs calls it "extraordinary... a major achievement." Gillian Flynn says of Karin Slaughter: "I'd follow her anywhere." Sisters. Strangers. Survivors. More than twenty years ago, Claire and Lydia's teenaged sister Julia vanished without a trace. The two women have not spoken since, and now their lives could not be more different. Claire is the glamorous trophy wife of an Atlanta millionaire. Lydia, a single mother, dates an ex-con and struggles to make ends meet. But neither has recovered from the horror and heartbreak of their shared loss--a devastating wound that's cruelly ripped open when Claire's husband is killed. The disappearance of a teenage girl and the murder of a middle-aged man, almost a quarter-century apart: what could connect them? Forming a wary truce, the surviving sisters look to the past to find the truth, unearthing the secrets that destroyed their family all those years ago . . . and uncovering the possibility of redemption, and revenge, where they least expect it. Powerful, poignant, and utterly gripping, packed with indelible characters and unforgettable twists, Pretty Girls is a masterful novel from one of the finest writers working today.

Everything received as listed and in new condition. Seller had good communication and was prompt in delivery. The only thing I’d suggest is better packing. It was delivered in an unpadded manila envelope which arrived ripped exposing part of the package. Thankfully there was no damage to the contents other than a slightly bent corner of the photo book. But other than that, great service and I’d order through seller again. I’d still give 5 stars but hope for better packing next time.

  • Loved this edge of your seat, jaw-dropping, suspenseful masterpiece!

I loved this book! If you do any research on the book & author, prior to reading, you'd know that the content can be dark, twisted, and gory. That's one of the things that makes Karin Slaughter books so unique. If you want to read happy things & keep it light, this isn't for you. Move on. I was completely captivated by the characters, the plot, and all of the turns you don't see coming. This is the first Karin Slaughter book I read & it made me a fan for life. I went on to read The Good Daughter & then started the Will Trent series. I have yet to be let down. If you want to be on the edge of your seat, give this book, as well as other Karin Slaughter books, a shot.

  • Terrible!

I wanted to read this book for a very long time. So I bought it. I didn't get past the prologue because of the cruelty to the dog story. I can't and won't read about that. She should be ashamed of herself for thinking it would be good story telling! I threw the book away! I would not recommend this book, ever!
