I worked for the publisher when Warner first published this title and I in my vast collection of books I didn't find my copy, so I ordered this. Turns out I did have a copy of the first printing of this title so now I have two copies. I wanted to make sure I had this after seeing the Broadway show entitled Motown. Brought back memories of my favorite job and the best boss a girl could have. I loved receiving the book and will keep along with my original copy. I had always thought of Berry Gordy as a business/promotional mastermind and was very interested to learn how important his creative side was to his success. For me, this book provided a clearer understanding of the magic of Motown.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It captured the excitement and feeling of family of early Motown. The caring, love and support for each other among the entire group was a joy to read. I had always thought of Berry Gordy as a business/promotional mastermind and was very interested to learn how important his creative side was to his success.
