Dit geeft meteen een beter inzicht in de ontwikkeling van de bedrijven, we leren een aantal families of personen kennen die een belangrijke rol speelden bij de industrialisatie van de Leuvense Vaart en er komen verrassende verbanden op binnen- en buitenlands vlak tot uiting. Nuttige randinformatie werd ondergebracht in buitentekstkaders. Deel 2 bevat vele originele niet eerder gepubliceerde documenten en foto's.
