      Great Drive- fast quiet

      A great upgrade to my system- I have always used WD drives. company stands by it's products. I was looking for a higher capacity drive. When I found a Gold for sale. this is the prime HDD in the line of drives.. It is Fast, Quiet, So far reliable I am very happy

      What I expected

      Since I've only had them a short time, I cannot comment on reliability, but they otherwise work fine. I needed to expand storage in my NAS, even though the previous drives were good. They will be re-purposed elsewhere. Speed seems the same.

      Great product and price

      2 drives for upgrading our NAS. Came before expected and packed well. Installed and run with no troubles. A little noise at first when both were very busy duplicating backups, but quiet on daily use.

      It is a very good drive but it was designed for servers

      It is quiet, fast and reliable but if you use it on a desktop or on a dock you must place a fan to it. This was designed to be used on a server and they use fans there. If you use it without a fan it will overheat. You can use "crystaldiskinfo" to monitor the temperature.

      Achieved 190MB/s read and 178MB/s write. Above 80% faster in reading as compared to the Seagate Barracudar 3TB it replaces
