    a good book on the early days of the russian invasion

    i like this book. some reviewers on amazon have been hard on it but i like it. it's got good info, plus pics on the early days of the russian invasion. for those who called this book dated, the author david isby did write a follow-on book called war in distant country, covering the war up to when the russians started pulling out. that too's a good book. too bad it came out before the end of the russian's leaving but it's still good. maybe david isby will write another one covering everything from beginning to end someday. meanwhile there's other book covering that. meanwhile, as i said, russia'a war in afghanistan is good for info on the early days. ron volstad did some great drawings in this one.
