    T500 still decent machine in 2022

    For product from 2006, it really only needed a memory upgrade to 8Gb to be a useful laptop running Windows 10 in 2022. I needed this model for PCMCIA slot which has long been out-of-common-use, but is still used in various industrial systems. System isn't as slim and stylish as modern ones, but this IBM design is really rugged and doesn't have a cheap and flimsy feel as many newer machines.
