The Nikon COOLPIX 995 3.2MP digital camera captures high-definition images with resolutions of 2048 by 1536 pixels, allowing you to create sharp, clear prints up to 11 inches by 14 inches in size. This Nikon camera has built-in auto settings to cover almost any situation you might face when taking photos. Advanced photographers who want to create special effects by choosing the settings themselves can also take full manual control. Photographers of all abilities should be able to take amazing photos with this COOLPIX camera.In macro mode, you can get as close to your subject as 0.8 inches. A self-timer with a delay of three or 10 seconds gives the photographer time to slip into group shots. An optional remote control allows you to use the camera for time-lapse photography. Noise reduction reduces unwanted artifacts during longer exposure times. You can also shoot QuickTime movies of up to 40 seconds long with this camera. Use Quick Review and the 1.8-inch LCD display to simultaneously view a scene while confirming the last photo taken. LED backlighting makes viewing the LCD display easy. The built-in pop-up flash has a range of 32.8 feet. It has a fill-in setting, a sync delay, and a setting that helps to reduce red-eye. You can connect this COOLPIX camera to up to five external Nikon Speedlight flashes with the built-in multiflash sync terminal. Another creative feature of the Nikon COOLPIX cameras is that the lens side of the camera swivels. That means you can shoot pictures from almost any creative angle you choose and still use the viewfinder to frame the shot. When the Nikon COOLPIX 995 camera reaches the 90-degree angle, it can be locked to stay in place. The real image optical zoom viewfinder includes diopter adjustment. Parallax correction lines mark where the top corner of the frame will be when you are shooting up close. It also brackets the focus area, which is the area the Nikon camera will meter to automatically adjust the camera's settings. When using autofocus, you can choose between spot focus or five area multifocus. This digital camera gives you an impressive amount of creative exposure control.Nikon's 4x Zoom NIKKOR 8-32-millimeter optical lens is equivalent to a 38-152-millimeter zoom lens on a 35-millimeter camera. The COOLPIX camera also provides an additional 4x digital zoom to bring subjects even closer. The 28-millimeter threaded lens ring on this COOLPIX model allows you to easily attach Nikon lenses and accessories to customize your shooting experience. The white balance settings on the Nikon COOLPIX 995 automatically compensate for various lighting situations. Advanced photographers can use the manual to set the white balance themselves. The shutter speed ranges from a maximum of 1/2300 of a second to a minimum of eight seconds, allowing you to capture a wide range of scenes from sporting events to landscapes.The COOLPIX camera stores images on a 16MB Type I/II CompactFlash memory card. It has a tripod mount and a USB port for connecting to either MACs or PCs.     good value for the money

    You can slip this camera into your pocket, yet it has features that most small cameras don't have. You can get extra lenses for it. The swivel feature is not a weakness, it seems to stand up well.

    Packed With Tons of Functions and Fun

    Nikon COOLPIX 995 is a camera that is has tons of features, the nomenclature is extensive and it is easy to use. This camera is so powerful and has so many great things, even writing a summary is difficult. This camera has full shutter/aperture features it quickly replaced my SLR film camera, without missing a beat. Also has Programmed Auto, where the camera automatically controls shutter speed and aperture. Shutter-priority Auto allows you to control the shutter speed and the camera automatically selects the correct aperture. With the Aperture-Priority Auto you can set the aperture and the shutter is automatically selected by the camera. Manual which allows full control of the camera's shutter and aperture. The Long time (BULB) exposure (up to 60s) even has a Noise Reduction ...

    Great camera for E-bay sellers

    I purchased this used digital camera to take better images of my products. I had trouble with other camera because they did not capture the true colors of my handcrafted quilts. I purchased the Coolpix 995 from a great e-bay seller and professional photographer, and he included lots of extras that I am still trying to master with periodic e-mails to him as to my progress. I am very satisfied with the purchase, my images are wonderful, plus, since the camera body rotates, I can take photos from various angles according to my interior or exterior lighting. I am using the auto mode but my plan is to learn how to use the manual mode and become a good amateur photographer. I highly recommend this camera.

    Camera has features not available on newer P&S cameras. Good value for $$

    Nikon does not make this camera anymore. I use it for clinical and laboratory photos of very small objects in less than ideal lighting where flash cannot be used. Operators cannot always use two hands on a camera. The camera is small/light enough to be held/operated by one hand. The swivel feature of the lens unit is also useful at times in tight spots. I have 6 or 7 of this camera and my staff is very used to its features and operation. Since the images are adequate for clinical records it is best not to retrain people on new cameras. The best frature is the zoom in macro-mode. I can be at arms length and still get a 1:1 image. Flash is adequate when used. Can't beat the ebay prices! I've bought this model for as little as $55 and as much as $130. I hope i can keep finding ...

    Nikon Coolpix 995 digital camera; god value.

    I bid on and won this Nikon Coolpix 995 to replace one stolen. It takes excellent pictures, better than my newer Coolpix S630, even though it has only 3.2 megapixels vs. 12.0. It uses CF cards like my dSLRs. The ability to angle the lens to shoot over crowds or down at a flower while looking directly at the LCD screen is a unique and valuable advantage. The multiple programmable features allow custom control of exposure, flash, focus, lighting sources, etc., making this a very versatile camera. It can even shoot short movies(up to the capacity of the CF card). The price I paid on the auction was only 15% whatI paid for my stolen one years ago and this replacement works just as well. All in all I am extremely pleased with this camera.
