    Extraordinary dictionary!

    If you don't have room for the full 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary, this is the next best thing. There are digital versions, but nothing bests holding the real thing.

    SOED, Best Bang for the Buck

    I had been looking for a rather comprehensive dictionary when I came across the SOED. It's the "Best Bang for the Buck" in my opinion. Unless you have a need for all the phrases, quotations, etc., save yourself ALOT of money and buy the SOED instead of the 20 volume set. Less book shelf space required, affordability(shop smart-you can find at a fraction of the cost of a new set), definitions for approximately 500,000 words(should suffice for the general user). If your the type who HAS TO HAVE the most complete or best, then be willing to spend at LEAST 10-X(unless you are fortunate enough to find a give-away set)the cost of the SOED.
