Expensive but worth it
Anyone who thinks why pay so much for what is essentially a pile of plastic bricks will be pleasantly surprised by this set. It looks amazing when built, it's tough, there is so much detail and I'm afraid that is what you have to pay for. My son has the much more expensive Harry Potter Diagon Alley Lego set and I'd say the Heartlake grand hotel is like a junior version of that. So it looks good and has great detail without being as difficult to assemble as Diagon Alley (and it's obviously not as big!) My daughter had some of the cheaper Lego Friends sets before and to be honest I wasn't sure they were worth the money as you don't get much - but this one definitely is.
