    Offering 16-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz, the Akai Professional EIE I/O Audio/MIDI Interface with integrated USB hubs allows you to record audio at the quality level of a compact disc. By using the device’s convenient plug-and-play feature, you are able to connect several types of production equipment and musical instruments to your computer. You can also use it with nearly any music editing software that is available, including GarageBand and Pro Tools. It is very ruggedly built and offers an aluminum casing, nickel-plated input jacks, and analog-style VU meters. Four audio channels are sent and received on one USB cable, and the other three USB ports allow you to use the Akai EIE as a hub for bridging MIDI controllers and other hardware to your computer.

      Great Mixer

      This is my second one. I've sent both to musician friends, to let them record on original music tracks. They fit the bill exactly, no driver install, with the exception of installing Asio4all, available for free download. Great little mixer!

      Works well so far with Windows 7 professional. Easy setup, plug and play. Haven't tested the recording quality but I don't see a reason for it not to be as great as everything else about this device. It is very enjoyable and I warmly recommend it to anyone who wants to enhance their computer's audio capabilities.
