    This Movie Was Made When Hollywood Was BIG

    This is Hollywood movie making in its grandest form. It's a spectacular achievement from old Hollywood. It also cost a grand fortune to make in the days before CGI. The movie is very long but it's good enough that you don't notice it. Elizabeth Taylor was made for the part and Richard Burton pairs up with her very well. There's also quite a few familiar faces in the supporting cast.

    A classic that is even more enjoyable.

    Having seen this movie on TV and on DVD some time ago, I wasn't expecting much change on the Blu-ray version. I was wrong. The difference is unreal. The color and sound were improved beyond measure. The crispness and clarity of the picture are excellent. The colors and detail are something to behold. I can't remember if I watched it on a flat screen for my last viewing, but it is unlikely. What a colossal cinematic masterpiece this version is. Everything about the Blu-ray is bold and vivid. Liz and Dick and Rex never looked better.

    Cleopatra film is epic after all these years.

    Almost bankrupt 20th Century Fox. Turn a profit years later. Amazing restored print. Original roadshow engagement length of two hundred and forty seven minutes. Video and audio is simply fantastic. Great purchase very under rated by some. Production and acting excellent with a great screen play. 5 Stars.
