I had reservations that it would work, but I have found it to be an improvement.
Overall I am liking this Kit. Use of the Shellplate Bearing Kit does allow you to cinch down the Shellplate just a touch more. This alleviates ANY wobble in the Shellplate while allowing ease of turning for indexing. There are two caveats: One is to ensure that you get the extended Shellplate Bolt if required. My RL550B is a 90s model. So, before ordering I removed the original Shellplate Bolt - Brass Tip Set Screw and I could plainly see that with the addition of the Bearing Kit, none of the Shellplate Bolt shaft would be visible for the Set Screw to lock against. For me, the longer bolt was a necessity. Make sure to check this prior to ordering. Two is that for those of you with those LED Lights in the center of the Toolhead, be aware that the head of the replacement Shellplate ... Overall I am liking this Kit. Use of the Shellplate Bearing Kit does allow you to cinch down the Shellplate just a touch more. This alleviates ANY wobble in the Shellplate while allowing ease of turning for indexing. This is en excellent upgrade and Dillion should do something similar themselves. There are two things I’d like to highlight. 1. The extra tension you are able to put on the shell plate because of the bearing, it snaps into the detent once you install this kit. It may require more care when indexing. Don’t waste your time with plastic detent balls. You’ll only get a few hundred indexes until they wear out. 2. Like a lot of you, I use the inline precision light the mounts through the center tool head hole. The extra height of the shoulder bolt actually makes slight contact with head of the bolt. I’d suggest to this manufacturer that when they chuck this shoulder bolt into the large, that they add a step to the program to take off .100” to account for any users that have the same light setup ... This is en excellent upgrade and Dillion should do something similar themselves. There are two things I’d like to highlight. 1. nice upgrade
just installed shell plate bearing kit with extra long bolt. so far so good. turns better. alot smoother. the factory dillon part you can see roughness and wear. the bearing system looks to be better and there should be less wear on cast aluminum leaver. thank you. the only thing i could ask for. is to make some other parts for the dillon 550b. thank you.

Easy to install and takes the wobble out of my 550 shell plate. I ordered the one with the extra length bolt to be on the safe side, probably could of used my original bolt but it was borderline. I have two Dillon 550b's one for small primers and the other for large primers. I will be ordering another kit soon for the other loader. I don't think a person could wear out the bearing unless you don't clean and lube your loader. Might be nice to have a spare bearing and bearing races on hand just in case.
