In this personal and non-technical account, the author provides a year-by-year, month-by-month record of the Deltic years, from prototype to preservation, covering the early period of consolidation, through the middle years of achievement and domination to the period of withdrawal and disposal. Hugh Watson is North-East Regional Co-ordinator for the Deltic Preservation Society.
