Nice powered sub
I got this powered sub for my son’s car. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of installing separates nor did I really want to build a sub box. Decided to give this product a shot without a ton of investment. I am really happy with this decision. The speaker box is big, but not as big as some I’ve had in the past. It fits perfectly behind the seat. The wiring package that came with it is top notch. Once I figured out the nuances of my kid’s car, the sub was easy to install. It sounds great and my kid loves it.I got this powered sub for my son’s car. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of installing separates nor did I really want to build a sub box. The Price Is excellent. Amp is definitely not as powerful as advertised, but i guess the old saying you get what you pay for still applies. All in all it's not a bad package. If you're looking for trunk rattling bass this package is not for you. My vehicle has 6x9 rear deck speakers that puts out almost as much bass as the sub does. To be fair though my vehicle is a 1997 Concorde. It may be better if your vehicle is smaller or without 6x9's on the rear deck or an SUV. I'm not into hearing my music beforebefore you see the car it's coming from , my head unit isn't even amplified it does however have a 5 band equalizer, bass boost, sub controls, and a lpf function for the sub and front & rear speakers built in so it doesn't need an amp for my tastes but I do have the sub turned almost full ... I had Rockford Fosgate p300-12 on my old 2008 Honda civic. After sold 2008 civic I got 2016 Honda civic ex-t and I decide to try different sub on my new civic cause my buddy who bought 2008 civic wanted Rockford subs also. Sound is ok but not that good. I am not sure it is problem with my 2016 civic, I had to turn gain like 60% or more for decent bass with sub control to max on head unit and amp gets pretty hot(it is class ab amp and I might have add heat sink inside soon). for $96 it is good value but if I buy next time I will go for Rockford Fosgate again. Also I found out that cover up bass reflex port makes sounds better and more clear. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS IS BAD POWERED SUB. Awesome job Rockville, keep this up and big name souND systems are in trouble, plus can't beat American Made. For the price of what I paid around $95 with wiring kit was ok but that about it. It is worth it. I was not expecting a subwoofer that you could shake the neighborhood. I just needed to add to the factory system with more bass. Another thing would be to measure your area that you are putting the enclosure at because when I got it I could not stand it up so I had to turn it around and lay it down with the speaker facing up.For the price of what I paid around $95 with wiring kit was ok but that about it.
