Sebastian Coe always loved to run. After his first official run at the age of 12 his talent was clear, and soon his father famously became his coach - his ground-breaking coaching style and Seb's natural talent led him all the way to the top. SEB COE - THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY is the inside story of that remarkable rise. In 1979, Seb set a world record in the 800 meters, the mile, and the 1,500 metres - becoming only the second person to have records in all three at once. Following that summer, his on-track rivalry with compatriot Steve Ovett was heating up, and the boiling point was build-up to the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. In an unforgettable Olympics Ovett won the gold in the 800 metres, and Seb received the silver. Seb was spurred on and won gold in the 1,500 meters in one of the most memorable moments of modern sport. Four years later, despite illness, Coe again won Olympic silver in the 800 meters and the gold in the 1,500 meters. After retirement, Seb became an MP, and was later William Hague's chief of staff. And then, in 2004, Seb became chairman of London's bid to host the Olympic games in 2012. The summer of the London Olympics will be a groundbreaking time for British sport.
