    Small town values during the hard times called the Great Depression

    A Wonderful Series about a Family in Canada in the nineteen thirties. Here, we find a newly widowed mother trying her best to take care of her three children during the Great Depression. Meanwhile her well to do Mother-in-law, is trying her best to take the kids away from her at every turn. Hard times eventually turn into better times. Mom-in-law comes to appreciate her grand kids Mother.Over the years, The kids grow and turn into nice well adjusted kids. I love how the two boys fight with each other and don't get along much. True to life! Also the other family members, Aunts,Uncles, Step Dad and Town folk, All help each other through the Great Depression.Small town Values during those hard times.     Sullivan Did It Again!

    First it was "Anne Of Green Gables" then "Road To Avonlea" and then the "Avonlea" series. Now Sullivan has "Wind At My Back". If you have ever watched the others you are sure to find "Wind At My Back" addicting. I wanted more of "Avonlea" but after the last season I found that "Wind At My Back" was in the making. After watching the first season of "Wind At My Back" I knew I would have to buy all the rest. "Wind At My Back" will not disapoint any Sullivan fan. Another great family series set in New Beford during the depression era. Sullivan brings out humor along with sadness and family values that I came to expect.

    You may have to explain some Lieing here!

    I bought this set because it had good reviews and I love movies about the old days and of people who overcome hardship. This series, in my opinion started a little weak. I thought the characters didn't seem as real as they should but as it moved along it improved. Kathryn Greenwood who plays Grace was my favorite. She did a superb job of bringing out the personality of the spinster daughter. My only real complaint with this series is that everybody lies! The grandmother lies, the daughter, the mother of the two boys, Honey's brother, etc. I was surprised that no one really repented, or explained. They just kept doing it and usually it did not bring a good outcome. If you are trying to teach your children not to lie, this will not set a good example. You will have to do ...

    Those Good Old Days Really Were!

    Hmmm, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Beverly Hills, New York ... not so much. The women in Wind at My Back are strong, loyal, hardworking and honest. This is a beautifully presented series of people caring about - and for - each other through the very difficult times during the 1930s depression. The writing, casting, dialog... just so well done. I'm so pleased that EBAY offers this splendid series.
