    Axis Bold as Love delivered as promised !

    CD was absolutely perfect when played, and in great condition looks wise. Case was rough, but I had been told to expect that, and had a replacement case ready for it. The artwork and booklet in excellent shape. Altogether a first rate purchase !

    The best album ever?

    Boy, this is arguably the best album ever recorded. People might point to the beatles Sergeant Pepper (great album but somehow lost its magic over the years, even sounds dated to me) or Micheal Jackson's Thriller( Micheal Jackson ughh- not cool). But Axis Bold as Love has staying power. The playing and arrangements sound fresh and relevent today as they did then. One or two exceptions might be Noel Reddings' song and one other.. But it doesnt get better than Little Wing, Castles made of Sand, Axis bold as love, One Rainy Wish, Wait Until Tomorrow, Spanish Castle Magic and You Got Me Floatin, is as good as it gets baby. If you havent bought this one and listened to it a few dozen times you haven't experienced. not a fan of the Hindu shmindu cover but it's all about the music.

    A Guitar Legend

    I really don't know why I hadn't bought Axis sooner.It really highlights Hendrix's voice...especially on the EXP track.The guitar playing really doesn't need a critique as they are all Hendrix's,and his alone.. I have the Album as well(I am partial to it) but the highs and mids that are heard from the CD make it a difficult choice. If you do not have Axis,you should,it's a true masterpiece.

    Amazing this guitarist, visionary, musician wasn't accepted in the USA early in his career and was an opening at for the Monkees. Rolling Stone Magazine top 500 album 2012.

    Artistic sounds

    Jimi's second album, more artistic than the first (Are You Experienced) and more focused than the third (Electric Ladyland). Jimi (together with Noel and Mitch) play from a pallet of sounds to paint musical pictures and create an album that is timeless. To me this is the definitive Experience album and Jimi's best, if not most creative, effort.
