A Peculiar, Extraordinary Book
Tales of Deltora by Emily Rodda is an excellent piece of work that revolves around the story of Adin and the Land of Dragons, formally named Deltora. This book is now part of my almost complete collection of the Deltora series. These stories are delightful to read to children, who also enjoy reading them very much on their own as well. Overall, the book could be said to be directed at young readers. This book, specifically, has many full page pictures to make the read more enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys adventure, fantasy, and a little mystery. It is great to read near a fireplace as your children gather 'round. As a mom and a teacher, I highly recommend this book!
Here's a great way to keep young readers interested in reading. The chapters are shorter and the print is larger to help keep young reader's attention and make reading easier. It really promotes the idea of readers using their imagination as they journey with Adin through the lands of Deltora with it's vivid descriptions of the people and territories that Adin travels through. This is enhanced by a beautiful full page color illustration that accompanies each story, a decorative cover with "gems" and a map of the Land of Dragons. It also ties in nicely to the other books in the series. My son, who's almost eight, and I started with the Dragon's of Deltora four book series. He enjoyed them so much that I picked up the Tales of Deltora for him as part of his Christmas. On a hunch, I ... Here's a great way to keep young readers interested in reading. Little does he know that he is getting the Deltora Quests for his birthday on Jan. 18th so that the journey can continue. Just in case your not convinced, my son used to hate to read. Now with interesting books like this to read, he likes reading a lot more.
