They are clear but there's no light for the bottom, so it's hard to see them. The clear plastic is not diffused, so it's brighter for the top letters when looking straight at it, but dimmer from a normal angle. That means all the keys must be replaced to match.

One handle was partly charged but the other handle had zero charge and showed no evidence of electrical “life” after an hour on the charger, so I assumed the handle was defective. I sent a message to the seller, who advised keeping the handle on the charger for 24 hours before concluding there was a problem. The seller was right—it took several hours for any of the charging lights to light up but it did fully charge. A+ seller!
