Product Information

Inspired by the evil, goateed counterparts that the original series' crew encountered in the second season's "Mirror, Mirror" episode, this Star Trek combat flight sim is set in an alternate universe where the Federation is an evil empire bent on heartless conquest. Other important icons of original series episodes are featured as well, including the planet-eating "Doomsday Machine," the "Guardian of Forever" time portal, and even the bulb-headed Balok from the little-alien-behind-the-curtain episode "The Corbomite Maneuver."<br><br>The Star Trek: Shattered Universe player guides the good U.S.S. <I>Excelsior</I> as commanded by Captain Sulu, in a time frame occurring just after Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The <I>Excelsior</I> houses squadrons of the Federation's new single-pilot fighter craft and much of the action consists of 3D dogfights in the void of space. The displaced crew must learn to battle old "friends" and ally with former "enemies" if they hope to escape from the backwards universe. Success in missions earns new technologies and ship upgrades.

    Just Another Star Trek Video Game - Nothing Special

    First let me say that I have been watching Star Trek since I was a little kid in the early 70's. I've seen the series, the movies, and have even been to conventions. I remember buying my first Star Trek Game, or what was supposed to be a Star Trek Game, at Sears for the old Atari 2600. It was basically a star field comprised of little X's and O's where you hunted around for enemy ships by warping in and out of little mazes and firing torpedoes. Even though that game had little in the way of graphics or sound, was in mostly one color, and reminds me today of reading map coordinates, I'd still give that game a better review than Star Trek Shattered Universe.     Not a good Star Trek game

    Gameplay is bland and repetitive. Production quality is very poor. There are frustrating difficulty spikes 13 minutes into a 15 minute long mission.

    Star Trek Shattered Universe

    Star Trek games are generally fun. Typical space kind of fight. But the game does a poor job of getting to the point of what needs to be done. Idea of game is cool,but the game is just average at best.
