Jen's wise master reveals on his deathbed that only a Gelfling will mend the crystal that cracked 1,000 years ago and placed the land under the dark rule of the evil, selfish Skeksis. To break the prophecy, the Skeksis killed all the Gelflings, and only Jen and Kira escaped their wrath. Now, though, Jen and Kira must journey into the heart of the Skeksis castle to reach the crystal and return the land to its former goodness.Like all good children's movies, THE DARK CRYSTAL contains enough scary elements to keep the tension tight and the kids enthralled, while the puppet mastery will impress and tickle adults. I wanted this movie when I was in 4th grade, and by the way I won't say how long ago that was. lol. But anyways, I always wanted it, so I thought about it for my own children. So, I bought it. I watched it, and my kids watched it, and I loved it. My kids said "they had something that cool when you were little". You have to really watch the movie to get everything out of it. { I wasnt allowed to watch it really when I was little, they said it was to erie}. But, really its not, its different, I cant describe it right but I will try. **The whole story is about this one boy who is the one, the one who will save the world. In this story evil overtook the world, and this boy has to find peices of the dark crytal and place them together in a old castle, to destroy the evil beings and the good ... Its pretty cool even for being old school. I am selling it because I still feel wierd about owning it, I guess the "Mom knows best" still stays with a person.

Whisked Away to a Different World
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid and I was interested in seeing how good it was through adult eyes....Holy Cripes!!! This movie is still fantastic!!! Jim Henson's visionary tale is still visionary...after all these years no one has been able to capture human emotion through nonhuman means the way this man had. Do yourself a favor and get this movie!!! Your kids will love it and you will love how good this movie is after over 20 years!!! I'm not going to give a plot summary..I don't do reviews like that...all I am going to tell you is that I think this movie is a shinning example of what a human can do when they have the freedom to express their creativity. You can still see the love that was put into this movie and the "Muppets" that make up the characters (their are no humans ... A "making of" that I had never seen really shows how hard it was to make this movie...the other worldly feel is simply amazing!!!! BUY THIS COLLECTION!!! You will not be disappointed.
