    Not what it seems to be.

    Was dismayed by the santa pin-up girl picture on the inside "liner notes". Kind of made the whole concept of an old-fashioned Christmas album seem pretty insincere and cynical. Do we really need to have a sexy Christmas? It reminds me of the SCTV skit with Catherine O'Hara which spoofed that very idea. Bob Dylan was supposed to be a Christian at one time and maybe isn't one anymore. Maybe he's not the one deciding on the album design. Disappointing.

    Bob's 297th dream

    Very little work put into this recording. Backing tracks all preproduced. Walk in sit down "sing" all the faves...if you can call it singing. Novelty item, made to sell on his fame alone. Nothing endearing, innovative, insightful or worthy of his "genius". Sorry folks, many other artists have done much better with this milieu than Uncle Bobster. Say for example, James Taylor, Beatles, Sinatra, DEVO (for Christ's sake) and that very rare, impossible to find, Weird Al Yankovic version with the Mormon Tabernacle nyuk nyuk nyuk

    Bob Dylan and Christmas Music!?!

    When I heard Bob Dylan had released a Christmas album, I thought two words. TRAIN WRECK! I bought the album not for me, but as a Christmas present for my father, who is a lifelong Dylan fan. Guess what? The album is actually quite good. There are a couple of tracks where Bob's voice just doesn't fit with the song, but other than that, he does a really good job. We listened to the album while visiting over the Holidays, and it was quite jolly. I recommend it!

    Christmas with Dylan

    It almost seems like a joke for Bob Dylan to do a Christmas album, but I am not surprised, as he is a great specimen of a human being, and humorous to boot. Should we all be so talented, driven, and use our time so productively!

    xmas in the heart

    i bought this cd because i was interested in doscovering how someone like bob dylan could sing xmas songs. they are not exactly his cup of tea. the price of the cd was ok for me. some songs are good, expecially when dylan sings only a few words, others are not very good, like adeste fidelis. he hasn't got the right voice to sing it. bye maria teresa
