About this product

Product Information

Divinity II: Ego Draconis is an action-oriented RPG with a traditional fantasy setting, in which players take the role of a dragon slayer who eventually becomes a dragon. Magic and melee combat proceeds in a real-time flow, but can be paused to allow the player to consider and change commands. Although from a behind-the-back perspective in full 3D, instead of an isometric viewpoint, the play of the game is in the target-and-click, hack-and-slash style of earlier action role-playing games in the series, Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity. Combat is won with strategy and tactics, and the game's storyline is determined by many moral choices, both significant and minor. The player's decisions lead different NPCs to become friends or enemies with the hero, closing off some possibilities while opening up others, leading to additional choices and consequences.

Although following a tale of classic swords and sorcery, the game features no set class system, instead allowing players to freely steer the development of their characters by choosing the skills and abilities that appeal to them most. New possibilities become available when the hero gains the power to take to the sky in the form of a mighty dragon. In flight, combat has a quicker pace. Battle directly against land units is not possible, but the size, strength, speed, and special abilities of the dragon are at the player's command. As the story develops, players also gain control of a large tower keep that serves as the hero's main base. The game is designed as a single-player experience, but the hero can use necromancy construct an undead companion to fight loyally alongside, and can learn to craft collected herbs and found items into useful potions and equipment.

  • Like a good book can't put it down. !!

Played the game at a friends house and got so interested in it that I just had to get it couldn't find a copy anywhere in my area so went online and found this copy at ebay and have been playing it ever since the game has enough in it that it holds your interes just enough that you end up playing late into the wee small hours of the morning. All the while getting both further into the game and the story. Get the game and try it and I am sure you will like it as much as I do. Cheers shatan25

  • Dragons, weapons, trolls and destruction = AWESOME!

Underated, very fun. Much like the old rpgs. Dragon mode awesome! Also a great story line. I already put in sixty hours and I feel I'm not even half way through and I'm still excited to play. Overall the best $11 ever spent!
