    Funny People

    When I bought this movie, I was so sure I was going to laugh my ass off the whole way through it...however, Funny People, isn't quite what I expected it to be. Adam Sandler plays a dying stand-up comedian who hates what his fame and fortune has brought him. He uses his 'sickness' to try to get his old life back. Seth Rogen is an excellent side-kick and puts up with a lot of crap from Sandler's character. Once I realized what the movie was trying to get across, I throughly enjoyed it. It has some great dry humor, but is definitely NOT for everyone. It's a sad comedy per say, that will leave some with a bad taste in their mouth; and others with a feel good tingle of watching Sandler doing what he does best.

    Fantastic movie - Apatow does it again

    I love Judd Apatow's movies with all my heart. They're extremely funny, very real to life, and just plain enjoyable. They always contain something that anyone can relate to. Funny People is no exception. It's definitely no 40 Year Old Virgin or Knocked Up as far as crude humor or constant hilarity goes, but in a movie sense, it's almost better than the 2 previously stated. It's both a drama and a comedy, because it deals with Adam Sandler coping with the sudden knowledge that he has a rare type of cancer, and the friendship he gradually gains with Seth Rogen along the way. A majority of the comedy comes from all of the main characters (Sandler, Rogen, and Hill) portraying stand-up comedians. And what else would you expect from Judd Apatow, Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, and Jonah Hill except a ...

    Funny and Thought Provoking movie

    Anyone who has seen Judd Apatow's two previous movies (40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up) would go into this movie expecting it to be funny and sorrowful at the same time. And with a cast including Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill, Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza, Aziz Ansari, Iris Apatow, Maude Apatow, and Seth Rogen you know this movie is going to be funny and it does not disappoint. Sandler is outstanding in this movie as he plays a comedian who finds out he has a rare type of cancer. His friendship with Rogen grows after that and the movie takes off from there. This movie is very thought provoking and at times very funny. If your looking for a good movie that warms the heart and makes you laugh at the same time, this is it.

    "Not Bad!"

    Adam Sandler, Seth Rogan and Leslie Mann star in Judd Apatow's 2009 comedy-drama. Two comedians work together and become friends. This isn't bad and Adam and Seth are great together. This dvd set not only has nice picture and sound, but rated and unrated versions plus neat extras. I recommend this.

    Dissapointed!

    Adam Sandler is always an awesome comedian. You can always expect some vulgarity, this movie tops the cake! Language was very raw . . . . Adam is still awesome, but the fellow characters, can't even remember there names, wow, Can you say Language??? I can tolerate alot, but every other word in most frames, good lord!! LOL!!
