Still makes me laugh after all these years

This is a comedy series of course. Very funny. Love the two main actors, but all of them are good.

  • I Know you Know that Psych is awesome!

Psych Season 2. Best described as a deliscious follow up of the first. Season 2 has Shawn and Gus continuing to solve off the wall mysteries with off the wall methods. Either working with the stellar officers of the SBPD or using his father to infiltrate a retirement home, this show remains stronger than ever. This DVD set is much better than the first. It features a simpler layout of the 16 episodes onto 4 discs, not to mention a plethora of bonus features. Some the tantalizing tidbits include; deleted scenes, audio commentaries, Podcast commentaries, gag reels, Psychouts, The Adventures of little Shawn and Gus, and lastly two interactive features, the Name Game and Where's the Pineapple? Yes, it certainly is a lot of special features. I can strongly recommend that you should ...

  • Psyched about The Complete 2nd Season DVD

This show is funny with a great cast. Along with the MONK series, Psych acts as the "tag-team" comedy/mystery partner for the aforementioned series. The set-up for the show is that Shawn Spencer -played by James Roday- (son of a hard-nosed, policeman father) has developed very good observational habits. These observational habits have allowed him to solve many crimes by simply seeing the news report and interviews on TV. Burton Guster or known on the show as "Gus" -played by Dule Hill- (Shawn's friend since childhood) is the straight-man and carries the traditional information and knowledge that Shawn lacks. The interaction between Shawn and Gus provides the main source of laughs, as they deal with the situations that they are confronted with each episode. Shawn's father -Henry ...

  • What the Mentalist ripped off, but actually good

I've been watching Psych since it came out and I remember going crazy with anticipation when I first saw a preview. Watching special features (even the "Psych-outs" during the credits) show why this show works so well; The cast has great chemistry. Everyone seems to be having fun and James Roday, Dule Hill et al. ad-lib just as much as they read off the script. Pretty much a great show that can balance gut-busting hilarity with sincere heartfelt drama and everything in between. If you enjoy good, (mostly) non-continuity television, watch this show. The new season started recently, it's on Friday nights at 10 on USA.

  • Psych - The Complete Second Season

I see there are poor and below average reviews of this set, and I can't understand why. Yes there are some episodes that were mildly disappointing, but for the most part these shows are hilarious. The dialog is snappy, the acting can be campy, but the interplay of the main characters, Shawn and Gus are what makes the show what it is. The interspersed, quick, and often so off-beat 80's references (both verbal and visual)make this series a treasure...and honestly, seeing how they fit the pineapple reference in every week makes me want to watch, as do seeing what silliness Shawn and Gus can get themselves into and out of each week. All the supporting characters have their moments of fun during the "seriousness" as well. This isn't Shakespeare, folks, and isn't meant to be. It is ...
