WAY better than getting and storing a trailer.

Replaced the lower bolt connecting carrier to hitch part with a fat button head cap screw to improve clearance when lifting front tire. Added drop hitch to make it low enough to roll bike onto it as my hitch is @ 23", otherwise the lift range is not adequate. Instructions accompanying product were abysmal. One tiny parts blowup pic with shay lines, no actual instructions. Parts not well labeled. Added D rings to far away part of carrier to secure to truck D rings with chains and turn buckle. I think it will hold up fine for towing to shop.

    Good value. Need extra straps

Seems well built. Not for a big bike. My Harley Sportster 1200 is the biggest I would use it for. Also, in order to safely secure the bike, I had to run ratchet straps from the fork to the bumper of the vehicle I was using. I my case it is a pickup truck. So, I have a step bumper. Don't use the handlebars, it can twist them out of adjustment. That being said. Once we used the pull straps provided to secure the front wheel, it was fine. Keep in mind it took two of us. You need someone to hold the bike. I also used a small length of pipe for leverage to raise and lower the bike. Just keep clear of the lever when lowering gravity takes over on the way down. So, lower it slow and easy to the ground.

  • Not For Bigger Bikes

For a small wheel motorcycle (13" or smaller) with narrow tires it would probably work fine, but my bike has a 16" wheel and apparently the tire was wider than the 5 7/8" wide because it didn't go into the slot. But even if it had it wouldn't have kept it from tipping over because the frame just isn't big enough on the side bars to hold it straight. Unfortunately by the time I got around to putting it to use my 30 day return was up and so now I'm stuck with a $100 bunch of steel I can't use.

  • Used it to bring home a Honda 750 Shadow ACE. Works great! Let some air out of the front tire for a better fit. Made a ramp but works! Thanks

Used some upgraded straps drove 385 miles. Overall very pleased with the product. I did grease the adjustment shaft. I have a 2013 Ram 1500 4 x 4. So its 8" when the carrier is at the lowest point. I drilled a hole to hold it at 12 inches from ground when hauling. I made a ramp 4 ft. Long and used a 2x6 for the ramp. That was the only real modifications. You do need to make sure the shocks are bottomed out or locked thus heaver duty straps. Letting some air out of the tires helps to seal the tire in place. As far as not having directions, the mechanical schematic was just as good as it is super simple to follow. If you can't figure out how to put it together, then get a mechanic.
