Has slow sewing speed for a 9 yr. old. Wish it had more than 1 stitch size. Stitch looks like a baste stitch, but very pleased because the stitches hold very well.

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to sit down and read the instructions, do a practice piece, etc. Some of the items do look a little "scary", as I am used to my old, heavy machine that I've had for well over thirty years. So, that will probably be my biggest "learning curve". Forget about how I usually set the bobbin , etc., etc., and just go by the instruction book. I will probably be better equipped to answer questions after using it.Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to sit down and read the instructions, do a practice piece, etc. Some of the items do look a little "scary", as I am used to my old, heavy machine that I've had for well over thirty years. Handy little machine
Great little machine for simple straight work. Comes with optional foot petal, which I always use. Goes thru at least 6 layers of material. Very light weight. One thing I do recommend is, put something non-skid underneath to keep it from sliding.

Please don't waste your money and disappoint your child. Pedal did not work half the time and sometimes the machine wouldn't stop. Ran real rough! For $20 more you can get a much better machine. I bought this for my child's Christmas and we used it twice before getting rid of it.
