    TurboTax

    Good value, easy to install but Turbo Tax has changed a little, by being a little more difficult to use. Taxes are confusing and if you don't know anything about them, it is hard to do. The original version of Turbo Tax was really user friendly but it has evolved to where NEW users will have to use their Tax Pros to get through it!!

    About the easiest way to doing taxes short of dumping a shoebox on your accountant!

    Slow to install and update each year, but fairly easy to use with step-by-step instructions and automated calculations. Helpful transfer of previous year's tax carry-overs.

    Been using for 15 years

    TurboTax is that happy medium for people who don't aspire to being a tax consultant, but WOULD like to be intelligent about the tax impacts of their actions (such as selling stock or mutual funds, or donating to Goodwill). TurboTax doesn't teach you per se, but it walks you through your situation, and you can see the direct tax impact of each of your actions. It still takes a long time to do my taxes, but I save money and taxes are no longer a mystery to me.
