    11i by Supreme Beings of Leisure

    I discovered the SBofL's first album by sitting on the floor of a thrift store in LA with my Walkman, sifting through mountains of CDs of bands I've never heard of. I probably bought one in thirty of the CDs I listened to, learning in the process that interesting cover art has squat to do with the quality of the music. That was many years ago, and now every note and nuance of that first album is ingrained in my mind from countless replays while driving alone at night; one of my all-time favorites, for any band, any genre. Compared to that album (I've yet to hear their second), 11i comes off as a bit more intense, somewhat edgier, with more electronica coming into play, and this is not a bad thing.     good chill, sultry as usual

    Still waiting for an album to meet the level of the first one but this is still an effort worth having/listening to. Her voice makes music all on it's own.
