    Rare flick, hard to find

    This is the original dub of akira, the one where kaneda's name isn't pronounced like our neighbors to the north. The old dub makes the movie feel grittier, uglier. I wasn't happy when pioneer decided to remaster the movie AND re-dub, now I can strip the audio from the vhs and splice it into the cleaned up dvd. Spielberg tried to "improve" Star Wars and was eventually pushed to release a theatrical version on dvd, since pioneer hasn't, I'll have to make it happen myself. Any movie worth that kind of effort has to be pretty good, right? Maybe I'm just a gigantic dork.

    First and best english dub of Akira. A must have in any Anime VHS collection.

    If your a fan, don't dissapoint yourself with the dvd or blueray. VHS FTW!!

    What can I say, you can't beat the originals. This version is the best copy made for release in the states. I have owned the dvd and blue ray versions, they both were terrible. The VHS original has all the original voices, lines, and great animation I have came to love.

    Awesome Anime

    I have always loved this anime and was happy to see if for a great price! I look forwards to watching it again! It has that wonderful epic blend of intrigue and sci fi mixed with an artistic edge that is hard to beat!
