The Intel Hyper-Threading technology enables multiple threads to run on each CPU core, increasing the speed and efficiency of highly threaded software, such as games and multimedia. It also supports virtualization technology, allowing a single hardware platform to function as multiple virtual systems. Virtualization is ideal for businesses because it can improve worker productivity and limit downtime. With this chip, you also receive the extra protection of Execute Disable Bit technology. This technology prevents malicious codes and viruses from spreading through your computer or network. It automatically disables dangerous threats that try to insert code into the processor's data buffer.Intel also made a lot of important architectural changes with this generation of processors. They replaced their old front-side architecture with the QuickPath Interconnect, a high-speed point-to-point connection between different parts of the processor's architecture. At a rate of 4.8 gigatransfers per second, the QPI offers even better bandwidth with lower latency compared to the previous FSB technology. The microprocessor also contains three maximum DDR3 memory channels with a bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s. It has 8MB of Level 3 cache, which is a small, fast, and easy-to-access memory system on the card. Intel's smart cache system lets the cores dynamically access the memory in an efficient way, resulting in increased bandwidth and performance. The Intel Xeon W3520 delivers 64-bit computing for workstation, server, and desktop platforms. The processor's 45 nm architecture is based on the Intel X58 Express Chipset.The processor was designed to be energy-efficient. It will leave a small carbon footprint and consume less power at the same time. Whenever the CPU is idle or performing fewer tasks, the microprocessor dynamically adjusts its energy output to meet the demands of the system. In addition, the Enhanced SpeedStep technology throttles back the frequency when you're doing low-demand tasks to save energy. This card has a thermal design power of 130 w, which is the average power the microprocessor dissipates when operating at its base frequency with every core active. It has a maximum case temperature of 67.9 degrees Celsius or about 154 degrees Fahrenheit.     Cheap and easy upgrade

    This CPU is dirt cheap, and its identical to an i7 920 but for much less money. i bough this CPU so that i can flash my BIOS on my ASUS P6T to the latest version so that it will support the X5650 CPU.
