In the Devil May Cry Xbox 360 game, you play the main character, Dante, a professional demon hunter who seeks revenge while coming to terms with the death of his mother and brother. Dante resides on a fictional island called Mallet Island. Mallet Island resembles the present day world, but it is filled with demons, monsters, and other enemies. After Dante meets a mysterious woman, he must defeat a powerful demon named Mundus. You control Dante through castles, strange dimensions, and city streets. Your overall mission in DMC is to defeat Mundus and send him and his demons back to hell. Each level in Devil May Cry for Xbox is called a mission. Like most action adventure games, passing each mission involves defeating a boss. Most enemies come in the form of possessed marionettes, and you must beat them as you move through your missions. You acquire a number of accessories and weapons along the way, including Alastor, a magical sword. Your performance in each mission is ranked based on how well you do in combat, how much time it takes you to complete the mission, and how many orbs you collect. You can check coffins and other hidden places to find additional orbs and improve your scores. You can access special combat attacks throughout DMC by using the “Devil Trigger,” which temporarily turns Dante into a demon. Although the game is a hack-and-slash action thriller, it incorporates other elements. You must solve puzzles and challenges throughout this DMC game, and there are exploration and platforming elements interspersed throughout the story. Side quests can make the game more interesting, especially if you have already played through the game. Cutscene videos help advance the story and feature stunning anime-style animation. Although the gameplay leans toward the more challenging side of the spectrum, you can play in modes ranging from easy to Dante Must Die. Devil May Cry does not require any accessories. You can take Dante on his missions and enjoy the game without special controllers. The game is only available in single-player mode, so multiple controller accessories are not necessary. Devil May Cry’s original release date was August 23, 2001. Capcom originally developed the game as a title in its popular Resident Evil series, but it evolved into its own project. Capcom released the game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 games systems. It features a rating of M for Mature due to violence and mature themes. This DMC product is for the Xbox 360 games console and is also playable on Xbox One consoles. It is not compatible with other game systems, such as Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, PS3, or PS4. Devil May Cry spawned a series with the same name. Other popular video games in the series include Devil May Cry 4 and DmC: Devil May Cry. My son loves this game. When he gets stuck he finds a tutorial on YouTube to help he pass the level. Good graphics and entertaining. He likes the story line.

Above average, but fun.
The game overall has a pretty good execution. It sets up the ensuing chaos that makes this game what it is. The game mechanics are pretty good and the visuals are pretty good as well. The story seems to be interesting, but it will tend to lose you from time to time. Character development was alright even though this is definitely a 180 from what we are used to in the series. Language is really harsh even for Dante and has a lot of blatantly crude humor. It's an acquired taste to say the least. I can't say the story is the highlight of the game, but the combat is the best thing about it. The game has a small variety of weapons at your disposal. It makes the combat very interesting. I guess in Devil May Cry fashion, it still has all of the crazy hard modes, but Dante Must Die isn't the final difficulty. It actually has difficulties tougher than that. Can't say I'm a fan of the harder difficulties, but to each his own. The game has its pros and cons. Some of which that work against each other from time to time. It's an alright game, but as a reboot I think it was unnecessary. The new material could have possibly been used and incorporated into an already established series, but that's just me. I think it's a good renter.

Very good game, but i must admit that the changing of the story & main character puts me off a little bit, but the graphics & gameplay totally makes up for it with tons of replay value witch is the number one thing for a DMC fan like myself, The game is quite amazing, you can interactive with the environment in many different ways witch is pretty fun, but the irony is that environment itself would try to kill you, so it's not walk at the park, there's also unlockables such as artwork, costumes,contents, but most of the good stuff is on DLC (downloadable content) there are special challenges & much more etc, but overall. the game is great!!! if you want game just to beat you're scores aka stylist ranks or be just challenge by the highest difficulty or just show off you're friends all these ... It's definitely outside of the box, as far as storyline and graphics goes. Definitely wouldn't recommend playing in front of family/kids! Lol. But it's an awesome game.
