About this product

Product Information

The first turn-based strategy title in Ubisoft's long-running squad-based shooter series, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars offers handheld gamers 3D action as they put together an elite special ops team, gather hi-tech gadgetry, and take down a Russian ultranationalist. In the "Story" mode, players assume command of the Ghosts and head across the vast and varied Russian landscape, from the deserts of Kazakhstan to the Siberian tundra, in an attempt to track down and destroy the "Dead Hand" bases that madman Yuri Treskayev is using to build his army of drones. There are 37 missions in all, interspersed with 3D cut-scenes, and players can choose to take charge of six different character classes: Commandos, Snipers, Engineers, Gunners, Medics, and Recon. New resources, skills, and gear become available as gamers complete each mission, and all acquired equipment can be put to use in the 20 unlockable skirmishes. Multiplayer fans can also pass their 3DS back and forth between a friend in 11 one-on-one duel maps.

    Great Turn-based strategy game

Wow. I knew this game was going to right up my alley but I had no idea the depth and scope of the game. It has huge maps. LOTS of mini missions, and varying difficulties giving you loads of replay value.

  • Underrated strategy game with interesting mechanics.

I got this game because I saw it available for really cheap. On top of that, I enjoy turn-based strategy games, and thought this would be a nice deviation from the norm. Shadow Wars didn't disappoint. The character classes seem quite balanced, and each of their abilities makes for an interesting tactical experience. Map designs and mechanics are handled very well, and the graphics and interface look great. 8.5/10, would recommend to anyone, especially at the prices you can get it for on eBay.

  • If you like Advance Wars you will Love this game!

I bought this game because the game magazines gave it a high score and at the time there was not a lot of games to choose from but I am very glad that I did. It is what they call a turn based game.(meaning)Each unit can move a certain amount of spaces and then perform an action.{It will show you in red with the click of the button the bounderies for movement and attacking}Then the other team goes. The map is grid based. Playing through the campaign unlocks challenge stages where you are given a predetermined situation and characters and objective to complete, like having all snipers and needing to pick off a group of enemies coming at you.It reminds me of the old Axis and Allies board game. It has some cool 3D effects. The scenery is awesome to say the least but if your big on the effects ...

  • another game, but one of the good ones

It's a great game. Is the same that there it in the nintendo ds. the story is good, i love the strategy games vased on actual and future arms. it's have just one bad thing, it's a predictived game, mission after mission, you will see that is the same but in other map. but still a great game for the 3ds.

  • Pro: Gameplay, Graphics, cons: Politc story about Russia

Its a good game with solid graphics and gameplay. The story does not attract me that much. I'm really not into political stuff but is a good story though. The 3D in the other hand isnt anything special. I play most of the time with it turned off in this game. I highly recommend this game. :)
