Classic 1950's Science fiction movie
This movie, which I first viewed in Eagle River, Wisconsin on vacation in 1955 at the age of thirteen, left an impression on me as a boy avid reader of science fiction stories. The film is well cast in all of its' characters and given the icing on the cake with Ray Harryhausen's stop motion flying saucers and weird ancient aliens looking for a new home as they flee their planet's dying sun and keeping their ancient and frail bodies alive in protective suits of "solidified electricty." These suits give them destructive power from energy rays discharged from their out-stretched arms to blow up buildings and the saucers powerful energy beam discharges from a descending ray cannon underneath the flying discs. The Saucers are incredibly fast and manuverable and emit an accelerating "whirring ... It is as Fantastic as I remember, I enjoyed it Greatly. The special effects for the time was Awesome!!! The Acting was Fantastic. I will be watching it again soon.

The aliens are coming!
This movie is so awsome. Saw it many many years ago and still love it. It was a great edition to my Si-Fi collection. The action was excellent with also excellent actors and actress. It also has the gifted effects of the master Ray Harryhausen.

Love This Movie!
My husband and I are huge fans of the old sci-fi movies. Our kids even sit in to watch them with us. This one is great with the eerie feeling of seeing a flying saucer right in front of your car! The actor's facial expressions say it all. What makes this movie one to watch is that the actors really have to act in order to pull the movie off. The special effects for the time period are pretty good, but the actors make it work. I am a fan of watching actors perform, not watching a bunch of special super effects and blood and guts scenes to make the movie a thriller.
