I was born only months before Easy Rider was released in theaters. I've always had a fascination with the 1960's counter-culture and the music from that era has strongly influenced my own musical compositions. Curiously, it wasn't until 2009 that I finally sat down to watch Easy Rider. In this day and age, many people are too busy to think about life as a whole and are programmed by society to such an extent that they could not begin to reach deep within themselves for a higher understanding. This movie would likely bore such people. This movie represents the very definition of true freedom, as well as the cost of enjoying said freedom at the hands of those who are too frightened of the responsibility that comes with it. I find it sad that a large percentage of those who understood true ... I was born only months before Easy Rider was released in theaters.
