First Edition/First Printing. Bound in green cloth with front panel moose scene in gilt on front board and moose roundel on the spine. Previous owner's bookplate present to the front pastedown. Text is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid. 'In two parts, the first being on the American Moose and the second on the Old-World elk. In the former there are 12 chapters on natural history and hunting, including range, habits, still-hunting, calling the moose, miscellaneous hunting methods, heads and horns, moose meat as food, the moose in Indian myth, etc. The second part deals with the European counterpart called 'elk', primarily its range and hunting in Scandinavia.”
