    A great source on the Windows OS architecture, this book provides detail you won't find elsewhere. Some of the topics are only briefly mentioned. But overall, this book has incredible information on how Windows manages processes, threads, memory, networking, I/O, file systems, caching and other system components. It describes how to use various tools for learning and troubleshooting. For example it demonstrates how to debug a process starting from the early steps of loading / initializing, long before the main or other programmer provided entry method is called. You can step through and see how DLLs are resolved, loaded and initialized. It provides a chapter on analyzing crash dumps. I only wish I had been using the previous versions of this book in the past. I'll definitely be ...
