Music to Listen To
I have listened to all the songs on the new Brandi Carlile CD , Give Up The Ghost, and it was not what I expected. I have never heard her music before, but had in my mind it would be like Michelle Branch. I was pleasantly surprised. Her songs vary, it seems some lean towards folk, some towards country, and some a litte of both. It is the kind of music I would listen to when I want to have a nice quiet evening at home. maybe dinner alone with the husband, some wine, and just sit back and listen her this CD. Very well recorded album! 4.7 out of 5.0 stars on the recording! On a few tracks, there's a little treble sizzle; however soundstaging & imaging is excellent! Songs are well written. The punchy "Dreams" is a fun sounding track with hints of ELO, Tom Petty, Wilbury-like riffs. All other tracks are good to very good and this album is must for audiophiles who like somewhat progressive music! Two thumbs way up!
