Great way to protect siding
These spacers are the perfect way to provide a gap between a deck ledger board and the house in order to avoid trapping debris and causing the siding (and the deck ledger) to rot away. I am in the process of rebuilding a deck that was previously rebuilt by the foreclosing bank with the ledger nailed tight to the siding, just like the deck that it replaced. This resulted in substantial damage to the T1-11 siding, even to the extent of rotting right through, fortunately only in the area of the crawlspace. With these spacers and the ledger board properly attached, this will not recur.These spacers are the perfect way to provide a gap between a deck ledger board and the house in order to avoid trapping debris and causing the siding (and the deck ledger) to rot away.
