Product Information

Cops and hippies never get along. That is, until the MOD SQUAD arrived on the scene. Debuting in 1968, the hit series offers a countercultural spin on the conventional police drama. Able to go places normal cops can't, the Mod Squad includes a diverse group of young adults who have had their share of trouble with the law: rich kid turned car thief Peter (Michael Cole); Watts rioter Linc (Clarence Williams III); and free-spirited runaway Julie (Peggy Lipton). Together, they form a tenuous alliance with the fuzz, going undercover to nab lowlifes who prey on the young, while also grappling with the moral dilemmas presented by selling out to "the man." Though the premise may seem far-fetched, the series is actually based on the experiences of series creator Bud Ruskin, who worked in an L.A. narcotics squad. This collection presents the first volume of the landmark series' debut season.

    Mod Squad Still a Great Show

    I was a fan of this show when it aired in the 70s. Watching it again I was pleased to see it had great story lines that were very engaging to the viewer.

    Mod Squad- First Season, Vol 2 (2008 DVD)

    Take a trip back to the late 60's and relive a time when everything was hip and cool. can you dig it! TV shows in the 60's was an event to watch. You were entertained and the scripts were written to get a message across, but not in your face with foul language. The Mod Squad had all the qualities of quality TV. If you didn't see this show when it was originally shown on TV, then it is a little dated and the viewer might think it is dumb, how 3 young people who have no police training go undercover and get the bad guys. This show is a piece of history from tv years gone by. I bought both volumes and waiting for more to come out. Sock it to me, baby!

    Mod Squad

    I loved this show and still do. This television show is timeless. Though set in the late 60's early 70's, we are experiencing the same thing now in this world as we were experiencing back then (ex. the middle east war and the war against drugs). The actors were great and the guest stars that was in the episodes were of top caliber. The love that the four main actors (Michael Cole, Peggy Lipton, Clarence Williams, III and Tige Andrews)had for each other definitely showed in their characters they portrayed. I wish that they would release Seasons 3-5. This is such a great show, that I hope that everyone would get a chance to see it. It is so amazing that after 40 years, things really did not change.

    TAKE A STEP BACK IN TIME!

    This show has really stood the test of time! Still great entertainment and edge of your seat drama! Unique 60s perspective that is like a step back in time ...man! Groovy costumes of course. I dig it!

    Great Buy for DVD & Mod Squad Fans

    I am a collector of old TV shows and this was number one in my book. It is a show from when I was growing up and loved watching it because I can go back in time and be young again. I hope you enjoy the DVD's as much as I do and I can't wait for others to come out.
