    Aquinas in everyday language

    If you are not used to reading 12th century (Aquinas) English, this may take a little while to get used to. But this is the beauty of this particular book; Kreeft's footnotes are invaluable. My suggestion is to read Aquinas' Response first (to get an overall context), then to read Kreeft's footnote, then go back and read Aquinas' Question followed up again by his response. It may take practice but Kreeft helps you understand what Aquinas is saying in everyday terms. Practice this method and Aquinas will come alive! Happy reading.

    A Must Read

    Peter Kreeft does a perfect job in bridging the modern mind to the medieval. His footnotes along each subject are great tools in for the beginner in understanding key concepts of Philosophy, History, and medieval culture. The Summa can be quite daunting at times, but theologically profound. This book is an excellent summation on the more renowned arguments revered by Thomist philosophers and therefore proves to be a valuable asset. St Thomas Aquinas is among the great Doctors of the Church, and this particular collection makes it obvious.

    This book is Like a College Professor.

    This was a great quality book. I bought this book because I wanted to study more of the work of St. Thomas Aquinas because he is the patron of my church. Peter Kreeft is a great author and this book is like having a college professor at your finger tips to explain all of what you do not understand about the subject.
