Ein wesentlicher Grund hierf r ist die wirtschaftliche Bedeutsamkeit des Profifu balls. 2010 wurde eine Wertsch pfung von mehr als f nf Mrd. Euro erzielt. "Damit tr gt er jeden f nfhundertsten Euro zum Bruttoinlandsprodukt in Deutschland bei. Dies entspricht dem Bruttoinlandsprodukt einer mittleren deutschen Gro stadt." Das macht eine Marketingabteilung bei den Bundesligisten unersetzlich, um das volle wirtschaftliche Potential auszusch pfen und den Verein nicht nur als Fu ballclub, sondern auch als Marke zu etablieren. Die Zielgruppe der vielf ltigen Marketingaktivit ten der deutschen Fu ballvereine sind nicht nur die Stadionbesucher (ca. 14 Mio. in der Saison 2011/12 in der 1. Bundesliga), sondern s mtliche Fu ballbegeisterte weltweit. Fokussiert wird allerdings prim r auf die nationale Zielgruppe. Fast die H lfte der 18 - 69-J hrigen interessiert sich sehr stark f r Fu ball. Hochgerechnet auf die Gesamtheit ergibt sich eine potentielle Zielgruppe von ca. 25,8 Mio. Fu ballfans, die durch entsprechendes Markenmanagement angesprochen werden kann. In den nachfolgenden Kapiteln wird zun chst der Begriff und die Auspr gungen des "Sportmarketings" erl utert und dar ber hinaus die facettenreichen Marketingaktivit ten eines Fu ballvereins, dem FC Bayern M nchen, analysiert.
