    Very good straightfoward course on Classical painting.

    This book is a step by step method's course on how the Old masters painted, layer by layer to achieve their amazing results. It is clear, direct and straightforward to follow along. I think any artist would benefit by trying & learning these techniques.

The narrative and progressive illustration's detail (or mimic) the paint application process used by each artist. Artists include Titian, Rubens, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Hals, etc. One nude or portrait example per artist. Includes 143 pages, mostly illustrations. Very detailed teaching resource.
