Live-Action, Dolph Lundgren's first major role.
I loved this movie when I was a kid and Dolph Lundgren was amazing. Then I decided to watch it again and it was just as awesome as when I was a kid. So I had to buy it!

Masters of the Universe
This movie is one of the classics. When my kids were young we watched it as a family ALL THE TIME. When I saw it up for bid - I had to buy it. The special effects are not great - I'm sure they didn't spend a zillion dollars on em - But for the era - they are pretty good. Guildore is the greatest character and as we re-watched it with my 25, 26 and 28 year old adult kids, they still thought so. If you want to see Courtney Cox in her first roll (other than Bruce Springsteen's video) - you have to see this film. It is a feel good movie for all ages. A Good movie, based on popular toy-series of the 80's.
Many people disliked this particular film. I could agree with them in some parts of it, like directing and dialogs, which could have been a lot better. Also, many things inside are quite a Star-Wars rip-off (Skeletor's troops helmets are 99% Darth-Vader's own helmet, geez!). Anyway, it remains today still a rare DVD. Audio & Visual are acceptable (don't forget that this is a 1987 movie). Subtitles are well-written, unlike other old films. Extra's are practically non-existent, with a few actor filmographies and other limited stuff. Well, as long as there won't be a Blu-ray release, or a sequel (although it is said that a sequel is already been in production nowadays), there is no reason not to add this to your movie collection, especially if you liked the ... Its a great classic based upon a childhood cartoon. Its just one of those movies that you love to see brought to real life from one of your favorite childhood catoon shows. Its got great action, good comedy, high and low points to keep you in suspense, and keeps you interested. The good guy is massive and the prime example of righteousness, while the bad guy keeps you frightened.
